WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THIS
Initially, he wanted to be a pirate
Set immediately after “interlude #6” from a few weeks back, when Sherlock is leaving Victor Trevor’s hotel. No warnings.
SH: Sherlock Holmes.
MH: You’re hurt.
SH: Oh, it’s you. Stupid, stupid. Should have checked caller ID.
MH: Don’t hang up on me. Would you like him arrested now or later?
SH: Or never. It was my idea, Mycroft.
MH: That is regrettably easy to believe. Why?
SH: Most unwilling assassin I’ve ever met. In support of that, I helped to set up something that will cover for the both of us. Now we’re going our separate ways. The end.
MH: You seem to have got yourself scratched up in the meantime.
SH: ‘B’ is for blood and believability.
MH: You’re both adults now, Sherlock. You don’t need to go out on a limb for your ex… beau. Doing so is pointless, particularly if you’re trying to shield him from me.
SH: Leave him alone. He defied orders to have me killed, I’m merely returning the favour.
MH: [Pause.] I’ll honour your request this time. If it happens again—
SH: It won’t. Let it go.
MH: Fine. At least you have your good doctor to tend to your battle scars.
SH: John is useful like that. Anything else? No? Good.
MH: Don’t be stubborn. I can’t effectively protect you if you insist on associating yourself with people like that. [Pause.] You don’t seem to understand the severity of our situation.
SH: I am quite confused, admittedly, considering there’s nothing of ours to understand. Stop wasting your time, Mycroft. I’ll continue to protect myself, and you’ll protect—oh, which is it today? Her Majesty? Or perhaps a desperate, totalitarian regime half the world away? Do spare me the details, though.
MH: How characteristically pettish. Since you’re so keen on refusing my help, you should probably stop rehearsing what you’re going to say to John and get home before someone else tries to assassinate you. I’ll be in touch.
I remember being REALLY confused about this one.
